AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1377

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 1377 by replacing
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:
 
4    "Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by adding
5Sections 11-214 and 11-215 as follows:
 
6    (625 ILCS 5/11-214 new)
7    Sec. 11-214. Local government reporting.
8    (a) Local units of government shall report to the Illinois
9Department of Transportation and the Department shall post on
10its official website (i) all preferred truck routes under the
11local unit of government's jurisdiction which are not
12classified as Class II or Class III truck routes; and (ii) the
13unit of local government's designated truck route network.
14    (b) If a local unit of government has no designated truck
15routes or preferred truck routes described by subsection (a)
16above, the local unit of government shall affirm to the

1Department that it has no such truck routes.
 
2    (625 ILCS 5/11-215 new)
3    Sec. 11-215. Secretary of State to provide information on
4use of truck global positioning systems.
5    (a) The Secretary of State shall include in its commercial
6drivers license curriculum and study guide the distinctions
7between utilizing a truck-attributed global positioning system
8device and other non-truck-attributed global positioning
9system devices.
10    (b) The Secretary of State shall develop a brochure
11regarding the distinctions between utilizing a
12truck-attributed global positioning system device and other
13non-truck-attributed global positioning system devices and
14shall make this brochure available at all Secretary of State
15facilities where an applicant may obtain or renew a commercial
16drivers license.
 
17    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect January
