SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Philip G. Greco, Sr.; and
 
4    WHEREAS, He was a retired Chicago Police Officer, serving
5for 42 years, including many years in Neighborhood Relations;
6he served in the United States Army and was a long-time
7parishioner of Our Lady of Grace and St. Juliana; and
 
8    WHEREAS, He coached in various sports leagues, schools, and
9Chicago Park District activities; he served as the Our Lady of
10Grace Athletic Director; and he volunteered for the Our Lady of
11Grace School Board, the Our Lady of Grace Sports Committee, the
12Logan Square Boys and Girls Club, the 14th District Youth
13Program, and the Pediatric Oncology Treasure Chest Foundation;
14and
 
15    WHEREAS, He received numerous awards, including the
16Chicago Crime Commission Officer of the Year award; and
 
17    WHEREAS, He loved Italian music, spaghetti on Sundays,
18barbecuing for his family and friends, driving around his
19neighborhood on his scooter, and driving his golf cart in
20Wisconsin; and

1    WHEREAS, Philip G. Greco was the loving husband of Helen,
2nee Krawczyk; the loving father of Susan (Steve) Costello,
3Sharon (Steve) Pyka, Philip (AnnMarie), and Sandra (Ken) Serwa;
4and the devoted Poppi of Steven, Joseph, Shayna, Carla, Kenny,
5Ricky, Michael "Philly Boy", Robby, and Danny; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
8his family and friends, the passing of Philip G. Greco, Sr.;
9and be it further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Philip G. Greco, Sr. as a symbol of
12our sincere sympathy.
