SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Donald W. Miller of North Aurora, who
4passed away on September 5, 2010; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Donald Miller was born December 1, 1936, in
6Kellogg, Minnesota, the son of Fred and Rosalia (Miller)
7Miller; he was united in marriage to Patricia M. (Knur) Miller
8on May 14, 1963, at St. Mary Church in Aurora; he served three
9years in the United States Army, where he was stationed in
10Japan; and
 
11    WHEREAS, He was employed for 42 years with the Burlington
12Northern Railroad, and another 10 years with the Kane County
13Cougars; he was an active member of Blessed Sacrament Church in
14North Aurora; he was a third degree member of the Knights of
15Columbus, sang in the choir, and was active in the "Right to
16Life" Ministry, as well as the Aurora Interfaith Food Pantry;
17he kept busy with gardening, fishing, and sports of all kinds;
18his big thrills were trips to Minnesota and family reunions;
19and
 
20    WHEREAS, Donald Miller was preceded in death by his
21parents; his brothers, Fred Jr., Kenneth, and Frances; his
22grandson, Alexander; his daughter-in-law, Catherine (Flores)

1Miller; and his brother-in-law, John "Sonny" Wolf; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Donald Miller is survived by his wife of 47 years,
3Patricia; his sons, Andrew Miller, Lawrence (Dawn) Miller, and
4Edward Miller; his grandchildren, Charisma L. Duncan, Rachel A.
5Lucena, Edwin J. Duncan, Angelic N. Hill, Brandon S. Pounds,
6Joseph M. Miller, Alexandrea J. Miller, Elizabeth M. Miller,
7Zachary J. Miller, and Alysa R. Miller; his
8great-grandchildren; his sisters, Ruth (Gerald) Klein and Mary
9Wolf; his brothers, James (Susan) Miller, Paul (Julie) Miller,
10Leo (Marcene) Miller, Gerald "Jerry" (Marilyn) Miller, and Mark
11(Gayle) Miller; his sisters-in-law, Marion Miller and Sandra
12Miller; and his numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
14ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
15his family and friends, the passing of Donald Miller; and be it
16further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Donald Miller as a symbol of our
19sincere sympathy.
