SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Delores Yvette "Lois" Hunter of Chicago,
4who passed away on June 25, 2010; and
 
5    WHEREAS, She was born on July 12, 1958 to Lucious "Bilbo"
6and Flabe "Bea" Hunter in Chicago and grew up in the Robert
7Taylor Homes, Building 4947; she attended Beethoven Elementary
8School, DuSable Upper Grade Center, and graduated from DuSable
9High School in 1976; she also attended Harold Washington
10Community College; and
 
11    WHEREAS, She worked for the Human Resource Development
12Institute for 13 years; she also worked for Heartland Alliance
13and Management Planning Institute; and
 
14    WHEREAS, She enjoyed playing softball with her sisters on
15the championship women's team, "The Crushers", and volleyball
16with her family and friends; she was in charge of the 4H Club
17and assisted in the Summer Lunch Program as a volunteer; and
 
18    WHEREAS, She was a kind, gentle, caring woman and mother;
19she opened her doors to anyone needing help, a place to stay,
20food to eat, or someone who needed to talk; her motto was "If I
21have it, you have it"; and

1    WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her mother and
2father; her nephew, Dyron M. Hunter; and her brothers, Lucious
3Calmese and Calvin D. Hunter; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Delores Hunter is survived by her children, Jarrod
5(Jason), Cameron, and Ashlee Hunter; her sisters, State Senator
6Mattie Hunter, Brenda J. Hunter, Bonita Ersery, Angela Hunter,
7and Marilyn Davis; her brothers, James Calmese, Eugene Hunter,
8Donovan Hunter, and Curtis (Clarissa) Davis; her grandmother
9and family Matriarch, Lillie Davis; her cousins, nieces,
10nephews, other relatives, many friends, and her good friend,
11Charles Herron, father of Ashlee and Cameron; therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
14her family and friends, the passing of Delores Hunter; and be
15it further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Delores Hunter as a symbol of our
18sincere sympathy.
