SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Bernice E. Gelden of Lake Villa, who
4 passed away on February 15, 2010; and
 
5     WHEREAS, She was born March 30, 1915 in Waukegan, the
6 daughter of the late John and Margaret (Nauta) Sarvella, living
7 most of her life in Lake Villa; and
 
8     WHEREAS, Bernice was a member of St. Paul Evangelical
9 Lutheran Church of Waukegan and the Royal Neighbors of America
10 in Antioch; and
 
11     WHEREAS, She retired in 1977 from the Antioch High School
12 cafeteria where she was known as "Dot"; on November 11, 1934
13 she married Harold H. Gelden in Waukegan; and
 
14     WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold;
15 her infant son, James; her son, John (the late Donna Mae); her
16 son, Harold A.; and her sister, Helen Belec; and
 
17     WHEREAS, Bernice Gelden is survived by her daughter,
18 Shirley (James) Barnstable and her son, William (Dawn) Gelden;
19 her 13 grandchildren; her 15 great-grandchildren; and her five
20 great-great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

1     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
2 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
3 her family and friends, the passing of Bernice Gelden; and be
4 it further
 
5     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6 presented to the family of Bernice Gelden as a symbol of our
7 sincere sympathy.
