SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of United States Marine Corps Corporal Jamie
4 Russel Lowe of Johnsonville, who was killed in action in
5 Afghanistan on January 11, 2010; and
 
6     WHEREAS, Cpl. Jamie Lowe was born on November 15, 1988, in
7 Fairfield; his parents are Kevin L. and Teresa (Solomon) Lowe;
8 and
 
9     WHEREAS, Cpl. Jamie Lowe graduated from Cisne High School
10 in 2007; he attended Orchardville Community Church and was a
11 member of the Young Marines in Mt. Vernon; and
 
12     WHEREAS, Cpl. Jamie Lowe served in the United States Marine
13 Corps with the 3rd Reconnaissance Battalion, a unit based in
14 Okinawa that is currently serving in Afghanistan; and
 
15     WHEREAS, Cpl. Jamie Lowe was preceded in death by his
16 grandfathers, Perry Lowe and James Verdell Solomon; and
 
17     WHEREAS, Cpl. Jamie Lowe is survived by his parents, Kevin
18 and Teresa Lowe; his brothers, Cody and Hunter Lowe; his
19 grandparents, Shirley Lowe and Russel and Linda Legg; his
20 great-grandparents, Philip and Wilma Lowe and Elsie Ray; his

1 aunts, Cristy and Brian McKinney, Kim and Shannon Hosick, and
2 Tammy and Trent Flexter; and his many great-uncles,
3 great-aunts, and cousins; and
 
4     WHEREAS, Cpl. Jamie Lowe will be remembered by all who knew
5 and loved him for his smile and his love of serving his country
6 in the United States Marine Corps; and
 
7     WHEREAS, Cpl. Jamie Lowe's patriotism and courage will be
8 remembered fondly by his loving family, his fellow soldiers,
9 and the citizens of our grateful nation; therefore, be it
 
10     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
11 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
12 his family and friends, the passing of United States Marine
13 Corps Corporal Jamie Russel Lowe; and be it further
 
14     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15 presented to the family of Cpl. Jamie Lowe as an expression of
16 our sympathy.
