SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Lavada Ruth Caraker Henderson of Anna,
4 who passed away on March 11, 2009; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Lavada Henderson was born on March 6, 1931 in
6 Union County; she was the fourth child of Everett Brady and
7 Martha Jane Smith Caraker; she married Jewel "Red" Henderson on
8 September 27, 1947; he preceded her in death on August 21,
9 1981; and
 
10     WHEREAS, Lavada Henderson was a business manager for Choate
11 Mental Health Center, retiring in 1991 after 26 years of
12 service; and
 
13     WHEREAS, Lavada Henderson was a member of First Baptist
14 Church in Anna and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary; and
 
15     WHEREAS, Lavada Henderson held many titles for which she
16 was proud, some of which included Mud, Mother, Mams, Grandma,
17 MaMaw and Gomma; she was a most giving person whose life was
18 filled with joy; her delight in life was spending time with her
19 family, especially her great-grandchildren; and
 
20     WHEREAS, Lavada Henderson was preceded in death by her

1 parents; her husband, Jewel "Red" Henderson; her brother,
2 Curtis Caraker; her sister, Zelma Yates; and her granddaughter,
3 Tiffany Sadler; and
 
4     WHEREAS, Lavada Henderson is survived by her daughters,
5 Brenda (Paul) Sadler and Cheryl (Larry) Jaymes; her son, Terry
6 (Billie) Henderson; her beloved sister, Helen C. Garner; her
7 grandchildren, Timothy (Michele) Sadler, Jason Gee, Steven
8 Gee, T.J. (Tanette) Henderson, and Britney Sadler; her
9 great-grandchildren, Elijah, Alison, and Maya Sadler, Paige
10 Gee, and MacKenzie and Braden Gee; her sisters-in-law, Glenda
11 (Ken) Smith and June (Bill ) Stokes; her nephews and nieces,
12 Don Yates, Bob Caraker, Donna Sadler, and Glenda Koeller; her
13 dear friend, Pinky Cates; and her many other cousins and
14 friends; therefore, be it
 
15     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
16 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
17 her family and friends, the passing of Lavada Henderson; and be
18 it further
 
19     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
20 presented to the family of Lavada Henderson as an expression of
21 our sympathy.
