SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Regina "Jeannie" Kay Hansford of Johnston
4 City, who passed away on March 8, 2009; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Regina Hansford was born on August 11, 1955 in
6 Rockford; her parents were Richard Thompson and Lola Fay Layne;
7 she married Benjamin Hansford on January 19, 1991 in Johnston
8 City; and
 
9     WHEREAS, Following the dreams of her grandmother, Regina
10 Hansford pursued a career as a beautician; she was the owner of
11 The Look in Johnston City; she considered her profession to be
12 one of the great joys of her life because it allowed her to be
13 so close to her customers, who became her dear friends; and
 
14     WHEREAS, Regina Hansford was preceded in death by her
15 mother, Lola Thompson; her maternal grandparents, Joe and Lela
16 Layne; her paternal grandmother, Melba Schwartz; and her
17 father-in-law, William Hansford; and
 
18     WHEREAS, Regina Hansford is survived by her loving husband,
19 Benjie; her son, Billy; her father and stepmother, Richard and
20 Sue Thompson; her sisters, Rhonda Rowe and her husband, Des,
21 Janice Smith, Brenda Garrison and her husband, Brian, and Diane

1 Thompson; her brother, Randy Ferrel and his wife, Paula,
2 Kenneth Thompson and his wife, Beverly, and David Thompson and
3 his fiancee, Bethany; her mother-in-law, Elouise Hansford; her
4 sisters-in-law, Cindy Smith and her husband, Ed, Billie Anne
5 George and her husband, Ed, and Carol Piland and her husband,
6 John; her numerous nieces and nephews; her adopted brother,
7 "Jack"; and her countless dear friends; therefore, be it
 
8     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
9 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
10 her family and friends, the passing of Regina "Jeannie" Kay
11 Hansford; and be it further
 
12     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13 presented to the family of Regina Hansford as an expression of
14 our sympathy.
