AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 2990

2     AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 2990 by replacing
3 everything after the enacting clause with the following:
 
4     "Section 5. The Children's Health Insurance Program Act is
5 amended by adding Section 7 as follows:
 
6     (215 ILCS 106/7 new)
7     Sec. 7. Income verification. Notwithstanding any other
8 provision of this Act to the contrary, the Department of
9 Healthcare and Family Services shall require an applicant for
10 or recipient of benefits under this Act to supply at least 2
11 consecutive pay stubs for the purpose of determining the
12 applicant's or recipient's income eligibility for those
13 benefits.
14     The Department shall adopt rules to implement the changes
15 made by this amendatory Act of the 96th General Assembly by
16 January 1, 2012. The Department shall create, by rule,

1 compliance dates for new applicants and existing applicants.

3     Section 10. The Covering ALL KIDS Health Insurance Act is
4 amended by adding Section 7 as follows:
 
5     (215 ILCS 170/7 new)
6     Sec. 7. Income verification. Notwithstanding any other
7 provision of this Act to the contrary, the Department of
8 Healthcare and Family Services shall require an applicant for
9 or recipient of benefits under this Act to supply at least 2
10 consecutive pay stubs for the purpose of determining the
11 applicant's or recipient's income eligibility for those
12 benefits.
13     The Department shall adopt rules to implement the changes
14 made by this amendatory Act of the 96th General Assembly by
15 January 1, 2012. The Department shall create, by rule,
16 compliance dates for new applicants and existing applicants.
 
17     Section 15. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by
18 adding Section 1-12 as follows:
 
19     (305 ILCS 5/1-12 new)
20     Sec. 1-12. Income verification. Notwithstanding any other
21 provision of this Code to the contrary, the Department of Human
22 Services or the Department of Healthcare and Family Services
