HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Paul E.
4 Forby of Benton, who passed away on January 1, 2008; Mr. Forby
5 was the father of our colleague, Illinois State Senator Gary
6 Forby; and
 
7     WHEREAS, Paul E. Forby was born December 23, 1924, in
8 Makanda, the son of Homer Forby and Ethel (Maze) Forby; he was
9 raised by his stepfather, Herbert Draper; he married the former
10 Betty June Elkins on August 27, 1943; and
 
11     WHEREAS, He worked as a superintendent for E.T. Simonds for
12 18 years and then worked as a coal miner at Freeman Mine 6 in
13 Waltonville for 19 years and retired at age 62; he was a member
14 of UMWA, Benton Masonic Lodge, and the Shrine Temple and Steel
15 City Baptist Church; he enjoyed golfing and camping with his
16 wife, Betty, in Texas and Florida; and
 
17     WHEREAS, Mr. Forby was preceded in death by his parents;
18 his stepfather, Herbert Draper; and one granddaughter, Melissa
19 Forby; and
 
20     WHEREAS, Paul E. Forby is survived by his wife, Betty June
21 Forby; his three sons, Illinois State Senator Gary Forby and

1 wife, Angie, Mike Forby and wife, Glenda, and Eric Forby and
2 wife, Amy; his eight grandchildren, Lisa Black and husband,
3 Mike, Justin Forby, Jeremy and Mackenzie Fleetwood, Dustin
4 Forby, Melissa Cole and husband, Kevin, and Jake and Zack
5 Forby; his three great-grandchildren, Hanna Forby, and Trey and
6 Chase Cole; his brother, Homer Forby and wife, Niecey; and
7 several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
8     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
9 NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
10 mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Paul
11 E. Forby; and be it further
 
12     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13 presented to the family of Paul E. Forby as a symbol of our
14 sincere sympathy.
