HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of William
4 Alfred Kinsey of Marion, who passed away on January 8, 2008;
5 and
 
6     WHEREAS, William Alfred Kinsey was born on July 22, 1925 in
7 Gideon, Missouri; his parents were William and Mary (Buttrum)
8 Kinsey; he married Freeda Shelby on December 23, 1942 in
9 Morley, Missouri; and
 
10     WHEREAS, William Alfred Kinsey was a veteran of the United
11 States Army during World War II; he was the recipient of the
12 EAME Campaign Medal, three Bronze Stars, and the Purple Heart,
13 which he received from wounds he received in action east of the
14 Rhine River in Germany on March 24, 1945; and
 
15     WHEREAS, William Alfred Kinsey was a retired farmer and
16 maintenance worker at Southern Illinois University; and
 
17     WHEREAS, William Alfred Kinsey was a member of Cana Baptist
18 Church; and
 
19     WHEREAS, William Alfred Kinsey was preceded in death by his
20 parents; his brothers, Raymond and Alonzo Kinsey; his sisters,

1 Cleo Gray, Nellie Austin, and Hazel Lambert; and his two infant
2 siblings; and
 
3     WHEREAS, William Alfred Kinsey is survived by his wife
4 Freeda; his sons, Neal Wayne (Linda) Kinsey, William "Bill"
5 (Marsha) Kinsey, Daniel (Cynthia) Kinsey, Steven (Michelle)
6 Kinsey, and Andy Kinsey; his daughters, Judy (Tom) Strickland,
7 Karen (Jerry) Rowland, Sandis (Bruce) Parks, Paula (Kenneth)
8 Kelly, Debra (Michael) Blumenstock, Sheila (Gary) Harris, and
9 Dana (Curtis) Wharton; his 29 grandchildren and 30
10 great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Florence Cato and LaVern
11 McCain; therefore, be it
 
12     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
13 NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
14 mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of
15 William Alfred Kinsey; and be it further
 
16     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17 presented to the family of William Alfred Kinsey as an
18 expression of our sympathy.
