HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Mary
4 Alice Hughes, who passed away on September 20, 2007; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Mary Alice Hughes was born on December 28, 1942 in
6 Indianola, Mississippi; her parents were Nathan and Margaret
7 Hall; she married Jay Hughes on January 8, 1977; and
 
8     WHEREAS, Mary Alice Hughes confessed a hope in Christ at an
9 early age and instilled the power of faith to her family,
10 friends, and everyone she met; and
 
11     WHEREAS, Mary Alice Hughes moved to Chicago in 1962; she
12 continued her formal education in Chicago, receiving her
13 diploma from the First Business School of Chicago; and
 
14     WHEREAS, Mary Alice Hughes was employed as a typist and
15 shipping clerk for Bee-Bindery for many years; and
 
16     WHEREAS, Mary Alice Hughes joined the Order of the Eastern
17 Star in April of 1981; she was a loyal member of the Alpha
18 Omicron Society and Alpha Pi Chi; she was an active member of
19 Messiah Temple until her health failed her; and

1     WHEREAS, Mary Alice Hughes was preceded in death by her
2 parents, Nathan and Margaret; her brother, Walter Hall; and her
3 daughter, Sharon Moore; and
 
4     WHEREAS, Mary Alice Hughes is survived by her husband, Jay;
5 her daughter, Angela Montgomery; her adopted daughter, Tyesha;
6 her brothers, Frank Hall (Alma) and Arthur Lee (Bobby); her
7 very special friend, Magaline Williams (Bobby); her
8 grandchildren, Keith, Khara, Kimberly, Kedra, Kevin, Jamie
9 (Fat Annie), Keisharon, Kasmantica, Kenny, Andrea, and
10 Freddie; her great-grandchildren, Karshawn, Destiny, Elijah,
11 Marquis, Myron, Kiara, Aniya, Amir, DeVonti, Marquis, Freddie,
12 and Megan; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other
13 relatives, and friends; therefore, be it
 
14     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
15 NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
16 mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Mary
17 Alice Hughes; and be it further
 
18     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19 presented to the family of Mary Alice Hughes as an expression
20 of our sympathy.
