Amends the Illinois Municipal Code. Provides that the corporate authorities of any municipality may regulate chronic nuisance offenses within the municipality. Defines "chronic nuisance offenses". Provides that the ordinance may impose increased penalties for repeated violations.

| AN ACT concerning local government.

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|

| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Illinois Municipal Code is amended by adding |
5 |
| Section 11-5.4-1 as follows: |

| Sec. 11-5.4-1. Chronic nuisance ordinances. The corporate |
8 |
| authorities of any municipality may, by ordinance, regulate |
9 |
| chronic nuisance offenses within the municipality. The term |
10 |
| "chronic nuisance offenses" includes, but is not limited to, |
11 |
| illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor, mob action, repeat |
12 |
| violations of municipal building codes or sanitation codes, |
13 |
| noise, and disorderly conduct. The ordinance may provide |
14 |
| increased penalties for repeated violations.
