SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
415 ILCS 5/7.6 new

    Amends the Environmental Protection Act. Provides that all recycling centers within the State must require individuals who recycle copper to present a valid driver's license or State-issued identification card at the time of the transaction and must maintain a log of all copper recycling transactions. Effective immediately.

1     AN ACT concerning safety.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Environmental Protection Act is amended by
5 adding Section 7.6 as follows:
 
6     (415 ILCS 5/7.6 new)
7     Sec. 7.6. Copper recycling. All recycling centers within
8 the State must require individuals who recycle copper to
9 present a valid driver's license or State-issued
10 identification card at the time of the transaction. All
11 recycling centers within the State must maintain a log of
12 copper recycling transactions.
 
13     Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
14 becoming law.
