    AN ACT concerning regulation.

    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 
3
represented in the General Assembly:

    Section 5. The Professional Geologist Licensing Act is 
5
amended by changing Section 10 as follows:

    (Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2016)

    Sec. 10. Declaration of public policy. The
The practice of 
9
professional
geology in the State of Illinois is hereby 
10
declared to affect the public
health, safety, and well-being of 
11
its citizens and to be subject to regulation
and control in the 
12
public interest.  It is further declared that the practice
of 
13
professional geology, as defined in this Act, merits the 
14
confidence of the
public, and that only qualified persons shall 
15
be authorized to engage in the
practice of professional geology 
16
in the State of Illinois.  This Act shall be
liberally construed 
17
to best carry out this purpose.
