SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with regret of the death of Robert "Bob" Skaggs of
4 Wickliffe, Kentucky, on Thursday, July 7, 2005; and
 
5     WHEREAS, He was a native of Cairo and worked in the marine
6 industry for more than 55 years; he began his adventure in life
7 as a deckhand on a towboat and moved himself up the ladder to
8 become vice president of Cairo Marine Service; he established
9 his own company in 1981 and was still active with Skaggs Marine
10 Service until his passing; and
 
11     WHEREAS, He was the president of the Paducah Retired
12 Riverman's Association; he was past vice president of the Ohio
13 Valley Regional National Propeller Club and past president of
14 the Paducah Propeller Club; he was active in many organizations
15 in the area; and
 
16     WHEREAS, The passing of Robert "Bob" Skaggs has been deeply
17 felt by many, especially his wife, Carole Skaggs; his son, Gary
18 Skaggs; his daughters, Sandra Craddock and Sue Davis; his
19 brothers, Phillip Skaggs and Michael Skaggs; his sister, Billie
20 Jean Frazee; his grandchildren, Brandon Skaggs, Justin Terry,
21 Jessica Davis, Michael Davis, Marti Davis, Celinea Skaggs,
22 River Skaggs, and Kalin Craddock; his step-grandchildren,
23 Jamie and Laura Craddock and Ashley Wilson; he was preceded in
24 death by his parents, Ray and Robbie E. Skaggs; therefore, be
25 it
 
26     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
27 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
28 Robert "Bob" Skaggs, and we extend our sincerest condolences to
29 his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
30 further
