SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with sadness of the death of Janet G. Harmon of River
4 Forest on Tuesday, April 19, 2005; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Mrs. Harmon worked at St. Bernardine School for
6 seventeen years; in that time she earned the love and respect
7 of all she came in contact with, whether they be teachers,
8 students, parents or fellow employees; she was a teacher's aide
9 at St. Bernardine, as well as a loyal and active member of the
10 St. Bernardine Parish family; and
 
11     WHEREAS, At the school, she was always willing to give a
12 helping hand, especially when it came to welcoming new faculty
13 and staff and helping them feel at home; and
 
14     WHEREAS, The greatest impact of Mrs. Harmon's work was
15 through the children she worked with and the influence she had
16 in their lives; her love for children and generosity were
17 qualities that were easily recognizes; and
 
18     WHEREAS, Mrs. Harmon possessed a delightful wit, an
19 infectious smile, and a warmth that brightened the day of all
20 she touched; and
 
21     WHEREAS, She was an avid golfer and a fantastic shopper;
22 she was known for finding bargains and carrying a purse full of
23 coupons; and
 
24     WHEREAS, Mrs. Harmon is remembered by family, colleagues,
25 and students as a woman of faith, intelligence, generosity,
26 kindness, resourcefulness, mechanical ability, initiative, and
27 dependability; and
 
28     WHEREAS, The passing of Janet G. Harmon (nee Gaucher) has

1 been deeply felt by many, especially her husband, Mark; her
2 children, Mark Jr. and Ann, Justin, and Cynthia Harmon; her
3 grandson, Emmett; her siblings, Joseph Gaucher Jr., William and
4 Kathleen Gaucher, Joan and Michael DiGilio, and Barbara and
5 Paul Duffy; and her many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
6     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
7 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8 Janet G. Harmon, who truly exemplified selfless service and
9 caring for others, and we extend our deepest sympathy to her
10 family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
11 further
 
12     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13 presented to her family as an expression of our sincere
14 condolences for their loss.
