HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the
3 State of Illinois learned with sadness of the combat death in
4 Iraq of USMC Private First Class Sean Thomas Cardelli of
5 Downers Grove on Wednesday, February 1, 2006; and
 
6     WHEREAS, PFC Cardelli was assigned to the Third Battalion,
7 Fifth Marine Regiment, First Marine Division, I Marine
8 Expeditionary Force from Camp Pendleton, California; in Iraq,
9 his unit was attached to the Second Marine Division, II Marine
10 Expeditionary Force; and
 
11     WHEREAS, He graduated from Lisle High School on June 4,
12 2004; his teachers always enjoyed having him in class and often
13 commented on his focus and willingness to work hard; he was
14 eager to learn and took direction very well; he was a valued
15 part-time employee at a local hardware store; and
 
16     WHEREAS, During his junior and senior year, he was a member
17 of the wrestling team, where he showed that he was diligent and
18 could accept coaching well; he also exhibited a talent and love
19 for art, especially for drawing and painting; prior to
20 enlisting, PFC Cardelli completed the culinary program at the
21 Technology Center of DuPage; and
 
22     WHEREAS, The passing of PFC Sean Cardelli has been deeply
23 felt by many, especially his parents, Barbara and John
24 Cardelli; his siblings, Roxane and Darinda; his grandparents,
25 Marylin and Aldo; his nephews, DeShawn and Donovan; and his
26 many friends; therefore, be it
 
27     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
28 NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
29 we mourn the passing of USMC Private First Class Sean Cardelli,
30 and we extend our deepest sympathy to his family, friends, and

1 all who knew and loved him; and be it further
 
2     RESOLVED, That we honor the memory of PFC Cardelli and his
3 willingness to serve his country, which led to him making the
4 ultimate sacrifice; and be it further
 
5     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6 presented to his family as an expression of our sincerest
7 condolences.
