HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives of the State of Illinois congratulate Chicago
4 Police Deputy Chief Wayne B. Milla on his retirement after 33
5 years of service; and
 
6     WHEREAS, He began his law enforcement career on February 1,
7 1972, assigned to the 5th and 6th Districts; in November 1980,
8 he was promoted to Detective and assigned to the Bomb and Arson
9 Unit; in December 1985, he was promoted to Sergeant and
10 assigned to the 4th District; in January 1986, he was assigned
11 to the Training Division; in March 1988, he was promoted to
12 Lieutenant and assigned to the 5th District; he was assigned to
13 the Traffic Safety and Training Division in December 1988; he
14 was promoted to Commander of the 21st District in October 1995,
15 then later promoted to Deputy Chief of the Area 1 Patrol
16 Division, the position from which he will retire on February 2,
17 2005; and
 
18     WHEREAS, He received two Department Commendations,
19 twenty-one Honorable Mentions, two Appearance Awards, and
20 eighteen Complimentary Letters from members of the Department,
21 community, and other agencies, and he was the Commander of the
22 Summer Mobile Unit from 1992-1995; therefore, be it
 
23     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
24 NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
25 we express our gratitude and appreciation for Deputy Chief
26 Wayne B. Milla's many years of dedication, hard work, and
27 loyalty to the Chicago Police Department and the community and
28 extend our best wishes for a long and happy retirement; and be
29 it further
 
30     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
31 presented to Deputy Chief Wayne B. Milla as an expression of
