1     AN ACT concerning State government.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Illinois Act on the Aging is amended by
5 changing Section 2 as follows:
 
6     (20 ILCS 105/2)  (from Ch. 23, par. 6102)
7     Sec. 2. The The ability of the constantly increasing number
8 of aged in the State to maintain self-sufficiency and personal
9 well-being with the dignity to which their years of labor
10 entitle them and to realize their maximum potential as creative
11 and productive individuals are matters of profound import and
12 concern for all of the people of this State.
13     The purposes of this Act are to provide a comprehensive and
14 coordinated service system for the State's aging population,
15 giving high priority to those persons in greatest need; to
16 conduct studies and research into the needs and problems of the
17 aging; and to insure participation by the aging in the planning
18 and operation of all phases of the system.
