SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
225 ILCS 410/3D-10 new

    Amends the Barber, Cosmetology, Esthetics, and Nail Technology Act. Provides that an application for a certificate of registration for the ownership or operation of a nail technology salon, and renewal, shall be accompanied by a fee of $0.50, which shall be used by the Department for the purpose of conducting random inspections of nail technology salons in order to ensure that the salons meet standards of cleanliness developed by the Department. Requires the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation to consult with the Department of Public Health in the development of these standards of cleanliness.

1     AN ACT concerning regulation.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Barber, Cosmetology, Esthetics, and Nail
5 Technology Act of 1985 is amended by adding Section 3D-10 as
6 follows:
 
7     (225 ILCS 410/3D-10 new)
8     Sec. 3D-10. Nail technology salon cleanliness inspection
9 fee. An application for a certificate of registration for the
10 ownership or operation of a nail technology salon under Section
11 3D-5 of this Article, and for renewal of such a certificate,
12 shall be accompanied by a fee of $0.50, which shall be used by
13 the Department for the purpose of conducting random inspections
14 of nail technology salons in order to ensure that the salons
15 meet standards of cleanliness developed by the Department. The
16 Department shall consult with the Department of Public Health
17 in the development of these standards of cleanliness.
