AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 128

2     AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 128 by replacing
3 everything after the enacting clause with the following:
 
4     "Section 5. The Social Security Number Protection Task
5 Force Act is amended by changing Section 10 as follows:
 
6     (20 ILCS 4040/10)
7     Sec. 10. Social Security Number Protection Task Force.
8     (a) The Social Security Number Protection Task Force is
9 created. The Task Force shall consist of the following members:
10         (1) One member representing the House of
11     Representatives, appointed by the Speaker of the House of
12     Representatives;
13         (2) One member representing the House of
14     Representatives, appointed by the Minority Leader of the
15     House of Representatives;
16         (3) One member representing the Senate, appointed by
17     the President of the Senate;
18         (4) One member representing the Senate, appointed by
19     the Minority Leader of the Senate;
20         (5) One member representing the Office of the Attorney
21     General, appointed by the Attorney General;
22         (6) One member representing the Office of the Secretary
23     of State, appointed by the Secretary of State;
24         (7) One member representing the Office of the Governor,

1     appointed by the Governor;
2         (8) One member representing the Department of Natural
3     Resources, appointed by the Director of Natural Resources;
4         (9) One member representing the Department of Public
5     Aid, appointed by the Director of Public Aid;
6         (10) One member representing the Department of
7     Revenue, appointed by the Director of Revenue;
8         (11) One member representing the Department of State
9     Police, appointed by the Director of State Police; and
10         (12) One member representing the Department of
11     Employment Security, appointed by the Director of
12     Employment Security;
13         (13) One member representing the Illinois Courts,
14     appointed by the Director of the Administrative Office of
15     Illinois Courts; and
16         (14) One member representing the Department on Aging,
17     appointed by the Director of the Department on Aging.
18     (b) The Task Force shall examine the procedures used by the
19 State to protect an individual against the unauthorized
20 disclosure of his or her social security number when the State
21 requires the individual to provide his or her social security
22 number to an officer or agency of the State.
23     (c) The Task Force shall report its findings and
24 recommendations to the Governor, the Attorney General, the
25 Secretary of State, and the General Assembly no later than
26 March 1, 2006 the first day of the 2004 fall veto session of
27 the 93rd General Assembly.

29     Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
30 becoming law.".
