SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 were saddened to learn of the death of Edward J. Randa of
4 Naperville on March 23, 2004; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Edward J. Randa was born February 3, 1927, in
6 Chicago; he grew up on Chicago's southwest side and was a
7 graduate of Morton High School in Cicero, where he played
8 center on the basketball team; and
 
9     WHEREAS, He served in the United States Army during World
10 War II with the military police in Paris; after his discharge,
11 he traveled through Eastern Europe to visit relatives; and
 
12     WHEREAS, He attended the Allied School of Mechanical Trades
13 in Chicago, where he studied mechanical drafting; he got a job
14 at Motorola in Franklin Park, where he worked as a mechanical
15 parts inspector before becoming a senior mechanical engineer;
16 he retired in 1985 after 37 years with the company; and
 
17     WHEREAS, He was a resident of Tabor Hills in Naperville and
18 served on the board of directors; he was an avid sports fan and
19 especially loved basketball; he also enjoyed fishing,
20 gardening, and woodworking; and
 
21     WHEREAS, The passing of Edward J. Randa will be deeply felt
22 by many, especially his two children, Tamara "Tammy" (husband
23 Bill) Wilson and Edward "Ed" (wife Sandy) Randa; his four
24 grandchildren, Bryan and Brent Wilson, and Nichole and Julie
25 Randa; his sister, Margaret Randa; his nephew, Jim (wife Susan)
26 Randa; his two nieces, Nancy (husband Mike Hansen) Randa and
27 Bette Randa; and a great-nephew, David Randa; and
 
28     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita
29 Randa; a daughter, Susan Randa; his parents, John and Amelia

1 Randa; and a brother, John Randa Jr.; therefore, be it
 
2     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL
3 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the death of
4 Edward J. Randa along with all who knew and loved him and
5 extend our sincere condolences to his family and friends; and
6 be it further
 
7     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8 presented to the family of Edward J. Randa as an expression of
9 our deepest sympathy.
