 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives were
 3    deeply saddened to learn of the death of  Wilbert  and  Irene
 4    Palm of Carlyle on September 5, 2003; and

 5        WHEREAS,  Mrs.  Palm  was  born  on  April  30,  1931  in
 6    Washington   County,   the   daughter  of  William  and  Anna
 7    Nottmeyer; and

 8        WHEREAS, Mr. Palm was born on May 20th, 1917 in  Woodford
 9    County,  the son of William and Mary Palm; on September 14th,
10    1968, at Trinity Lutheran Church in  Hoffman,  the  two  were
11    united in marriage; and

12        WHEREAS,  Mr.  Palm  retired  as a mechanic at Rommelmann
13    Implement in Ferrin and operated his own auto repair shop  on
14    the  Boulder Road; he served in the United States Army during
15    World War II; his wife, Irene, had  formerly  worked  at  the
16    Hoffman   Supermarket;   they   worked  together  making  and
17    refinishing furniture; she enjoyed quilting and cooking,  and
18    they  both  took  pride  in  gardening;  they were members of
19    Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Ferrin, and were  custodians  at
20    church; and

21        WHEREAS,  Mr.  and  Mrs. Palm are survived by a daughter,
22    Beverly Jobes and her husband Keith; a son, Gary Palm and his
23    wife, Lisa; their four grandchildren, Mike Palm and his  wife
24    Linda,  Melissa Cantrill and her husband Todd, Kelly Pfiffner
25    and  her  husband  Paul,  and   Kristie   Beer;   six   great
26    grandchildren,  Travis,  Taylor,  Tanner, Haley, Allyson, and
27    Tessa; Irene's brother, Carl Nottmeyer; and many  nieces  and
28    nephews; and

29        RESOLVED,   BY   THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES  OF  THE
30    NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS,  that
31    we mourn the passing of Wilbert and Irene Palm along with all

 1    who knew and loved them and extend our sincere condolences to
 2    their family and friends; and be it further

 3        RESOLVED,  That  a  suitable  copy  of this resolution be
 4    presented to the family of  Wilbert  and  Irene  Palm  as  an
 5    expression of our deepest sympathy.
