 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS,  The  members   of   the   Illinois   House   of
 3    Representatives are honored to recognize notable achievements
 4    in the lives of the citizens of the State of Illinois; and

 5        WHEREAS,  The Illinois Department of Aging announced that
 6    Linda Warner of Effingham is one of  the  recipients  of  the
 7    Governor's Awards for Unique Achievement; and

 8        WHEREAS,  Linda  Warner was nominated by the Midland Area
 9    Agency on Aging; she is a Mental  Health  and  Aging  Systems
10    Integration Senior Outreach Worker; and

11        WHEREAS,      As      an      outreach     worker     and
12    gerontological-psychological  specialist,  Linda  Warner  has
13    worked to identify seniors with mental health  needs  and  to
14    find the most effective help available; and

15        WHEREAS,  The result of Linda's (and her co-workers) work
16    is a 28 county, active, varied, cooperative system to improve
17    the mental health of seniors in southern Illinois; and

18        WHEREAS, Organizations and community programs are working
19    together to provide  education,  reduce  barriers,  and  lead
20    individuals to help that addresses their mental health needs;
21    Linda  Warner's  efforts  have  sparked  active,  productive,
22    exciting  projects  dealing with a subject area that has been
23    talked about, and worried about, but not  productively  dealt
24    with for many years; and

25        WHEREAS,  In  celebration of Older Americans Month, Linda
26    Warner was honored along  with  the  other  recipients  at  a
27    ceremony  on  May  14,  2003,  at  the  Executive  Mansion in
28    Springfield; therefore, be it

29        RESOLVED,  BY  THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES   OF   THE
30    NINETY-THIRD  GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that

 1    we  congratulate  Linda  Warner  of  Effingham  on  being   a
 2    recipient of the Governor's Awards for Unique Achievement for
 3    her  dedication  and committed service as a Mental Health and
 4    Aging Systems Integration Senior Outreach Worker; and  be  it
 5    further

 6        RESOLVED,  That  a  suitable  copy  of this resolution be
 7    presented to Linda Warner as an expression of our esteem.
