 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, The members of the House of  Representatives  of
 3    the  State  of  Illinois  would like to congratulate Prospect
 4    Heights Mayor Edward P. Rotchford  on  the  occasion  of  his
 5    retirement; and

 6        WHEREAS,  Mayor  Rotchford  served as an alderman for the
 7    City of Prospect Heights, beginning in 1985; he served on the
 8    Public Works Committee; and

 9        WHEREAS, In 1991, he became mayor of Prospect Heights; he
10    also served as the Acting City Administrator from February of
11    2002 until February of 2003; and

12        WHEREAS,  During  his  tenure  as  mayor,  the  city  has
13    received grants for several projects and the  improvement  of
14    Prospect Heights, including over $20 million for the airport;
15    the  city  also  received  money  for a Metra Parking Lot and
16    Train Station, for Lake Arlington to  alleviate  flooding  to
17    Prospect  Heights  homeowners  who live along McDonald Creek,
18    for  Levy  37  which  helped  stop  flooding  to  east   side
19    residents,  for  Lake  Michigan  water,  and  for resurfacing
20    streets in the Rob Roy subdivision; and

21        WHEREAS, Mayor Rotchford has been  a  member  of  several
22    organizations  while serving as mayor, including the National
23    League of Cities, the  Illinois  Municipal  League,  and  the
24    Northwest  Municipal Conference, where he served as president
25    and vice president; and

26        WHEREAS, Mayor Rotchford and his wife, Carol, have  lived
27    in Prospect Heights for 27 years; therefore, be it

28        RESOLVED,   BY   THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES  OF  THE
29    NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS,  that
30    we congratulate Prospect Heights Mayor Edward P. Rotchford on
31    the occasion of his retirement and thank him for his faithful

 1    service to the City of Prospect Heights; and be it further

 2        RESOLVED,  That  a  suitable  copy  of this resolution be
 3    presented to Mayor Rotchford as a token of  our  respect  and
 4    esteem.
