1     AN ACT concerning alternate fuels.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Alternate Fuels Act is amended by changing
5 Section 5 as follows:
 
6     (415 ILCS 120/5)
7     Sec. 5. Purpose. The General Assembly declares that it is
8 the public policy of the State to promote and encourage the use
9 of alternate fuel in vehicles as a means to improve air quality
10 in the State and to meet the requirements of the federal Clean
11 Air Act Amendments of 1990 and the federal Energy Policy Act of
12 1992. The General Assembly further declares that the State can
13 play a leadership role in the development of vehicles powered
14 by alternate fuels and , as well as in the establishment of the
15 necessary infrastructure to support this emerging technology.
