AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 4489

2     AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 4489 on page 1, line
3 5, by replacing "3-628 and 3-642" with "3-628, 3-642, and
4 3-806.3"; and
 
5 on page 2, below line 31 by inserting the following:
 
6     "(625 ILCS 5/3-806.3)  (from Ch. 95 1/2, par. 3-806.3)
7     Sec. 3-806.3. Senior Citizens.
8     Commencing with the 2001 registration year and extending
9 through the 2003 registration year, the registration fee paid
10 by any vehicle owner who has claimed and received a grant under
11 the Senior Citizens and Disabled Persons Property Tax Relief
12 and Pharmaceutical Assistance Act or who is the spouse of such
13 a person shall be $24 instead of the fee otherwise provided in
14 this Code for passenger cars displaying standard multi-year
15 registration plates issued under Section 3-414.1, motor
16 vehicles displaying special registration plates issued under
17 Section 3-616, motor vehicles registered at 8,000 pounds or
18 less under Section 3-815(a) and recreational vehicles
19 registered at 8,000 pounds or less under Section 3-815(b).
20 Widows and widowers of claimants shall also be entitled to this
21 reduced registration fee for the registration year in which the
22 claimant was eligible.

10 registered at 8,000 pounds or less under Section 3-815(a), and
11 recreational vehicles registered at 8,000 pounds or less under
12 Section 3-815(b). Widows and widowers of claimants shall also

20 otherwise provided in this Code for passenger cars displaying
21 standard multi-year registration plates issued under Section
22 3-414.1, motor vehicles displaying special registration plates
23 issued under Section 3-607, 3-616, 3-621, 3-622, 3-623, 3-624,
24 3-625, 3-626, 3-628, 3-638, 3-642, 3-645, 3-647, 3-650, or
25 3-651, motor vehicles registered at 8,000 pounds or less under
26 Section 3-815(a), and recreational vehicles registered at
27 8,000 pounds or less under Section 3-815(b). Widows and
28 widowers of claimants shall also be entitled to this reduced
29 registration fee for the registration year in which the
30 claimant was eligible.
31     No more than one reduced registration fee under this
32 Section shall be allowed during any 12 month period based on
33 the primary eligibility of any individual, whether such reduced
34 registration fee is allowed to the individual or to the spouse,

1 widow or widower of such individual. This Section does not
2 apply to the fee paid in addition to the registration fee for
3 motor vehicles displaying vanity or special license plates.
