SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
20 ILCS 105/8.10 new

    Amends the Illinois Act on the Aging. Requires the Department on Aging, subject to appropriation, to establish and administer a program to provide financial assistance to older Illinois residents who are the primary caregivers of family members with developmental disabilities.

1     AN ACT concerning the Department on Aging.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Illinois Act on the Aging is amended by
5 adding Section 8.10 as follows:
 
6     (20 ILCS 105/8.10 new)
7     Sec. 8.10. Aging family caregiver assistance program.
8 Subject to appropriation, the Department must establish and
9 administer a program to provide financial assistance to
10 Illinois residents aged 60 or older who are the primary
11 caregivers to one or more family members who are
12 developmentally disabled. The Department must adopt rules
13 necessary for the implementation of this Section, including the
14 establishment of additional eligibility criteria.
