SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Frank J. Sandoval of Moline, who
4passed away on May 11, 2024; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Frank Sandoval was born to Encarnacion "Jack" and
6Ladislada Rangel Sandoval in Silvis on January 29, 1934; he
7served as a paratrooper in the 11th Airborne Division of the
8U.S. Army during the Korean War, earning the National Defense
9Service Medal and a Parachute Badge; he married Theresa
10(Beily) Buzea on September 17, 1994; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Frank Sandoval was the owner of Sandoval's Barber
12Shop, a well-known business located on the west end of Moline;
13he cut and styled hair for more than half a century; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Frank Sandoval was passionate about collecting
15doodads; he was talented in shooting pool, playing his
16harmonica, and cooking, and his specialty was making the best
17frijoles in the Quad Cities; he was a fan of the St. Louis
18Cardinals, the Chicago Bears, the Chicago Bulls, and local
19soccer, and he also enjoyed watching wrestling on TV several
20nights per week; most of all, he loved his wife, Theresa, and
21spending time with his children, grandchildren, siblings, and
22family; and

1    WHEREAS, Frank Sandoval was well-known for his hard work
2and generosity, and he helped many neighbors and friends; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Frank Sandoval was preceded in death by his
4parents; his siblings, Victoria (Alfonse) Lopez, Eloise
5(Manuel) Montez, Samuel Sandoval, Edmund "Pep" (Pauline)
6Sandoval, and Dorothy Rangel; and his brothers-in-law,
7Florencio Puentes and Gilbert Lopez; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Frank Sandoval is survived by his wife, Theresa;
9his children, Lydia (William) Matya, Marc (Tisha) Sandoval,
10and Sandra Sandoval (Robert) Klouser; his stepchildren, Tammy
11(Donnie) Palmer, Michael (Tracy) Buzea, and Kenneth (Lisa)
12Buzea; his grandchildren, Natosha Ramirez, Alex Sandoval,
13Raquel Cross, Deanna Sandoval, Terra Peterson, Jamie Schiff,
14Jordan Matya, Kayla Matya, Bobbie Matya, Lucy Buzea, Delila
15Palmer, Chase Palmer, Braeden Palmer, Alexis Buzea, Makayla
16Buzea, and Riley Buzea; 15 great-grandchildren; his siblings,
17Beatrice Puentes, Mary Lopez, and Phil (Manuela) Bonilla; his
18sisters-in-law, Laura (Samuel) Sandoval and Cheri (Carlos)
19Garza; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and
20great-nephews; therefore, be it
 
21    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
22ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of

1Frank J. Sandoval and extend our sincere condolences to his
2family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
3further
 
4    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
