SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Keyon Maurice Day of Springfield, who
4passed away on April 24, 2024; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Keyon Day was born to Keyanna Wilson and Lyndell
6Day in Springfield on October 31, 2007; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Keyon Day was a sophomore at Springfield
8Southeast High School, where he was a talented football and
9track athlete whose dedication and enthusiasm on the field
10inspired those around him; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Keyon Day brought joy and laughter to everyone he
12met; he was known for his infectious smile, his charismatic
13personality, and his ability to effortlessly make friends; he
14will be remembered for his bright, vibrant soul and his
15boundless kindness and compassion; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Keyon Day was preceded in death by his
17grandparents, Robert James Day, Barbara Joyce (Ford) Day,
18Willie Davis, and Clara Davis; his uncle, Walter Lott Jr.; his
19aunt, Elyse Davis; and his cousins, Reginald Day and Shawntel
20Howze Jr.; and

1    WHEREAS, Keyon Day is survived by his parents, Keyanna
2Wilson and Lyndell (Shannon Morris) Day; his sisters, Kemariah
3Molton, Jazz'lynn Day, Amor Day, and Kamiyah Lowe; his
4brothers, Jayden Johnson, Jace Porter, and Donotello Harper
5Jr.; his grandmothers, Yolonda Wilson and Ida Day; his
6grandfather, Lyndell Davis; his aunt, Kimberly Wilson; his
7uncles, Dominique (Jo) Wilson and Geoffrey (Felecia) Day;
8several cousins; and other family members, friends, and
9teammates; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Keyon Maurice Day and extend our sincere condolences to his
13family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
14further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Keyon Day as an expression of our
17deepest sympathy.
