SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Peter David Duytschaever of Coal
4Valley, who passed away on April 29, 2024; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Peter Duytschaever was born to Camiel and
6Rosemary (Gannon) Duytschaever in Rock Island on April 3,
71949; following the early death of his mother, his father
8remarried, and he was raised by his father and stepmother,
9Clara (DeBates) Duytschaever; he graduated from Alleman High
10School in 1967; he served in the I Corps of the U.S. Navy
11during the Vietnam War; he married Carol Jean Stanford in
122010; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Peter Duytschaever worked for John Deere
14Davenport Works, retiring after 32 years of service; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Peter Duytschaever was a member of Vietnam
16Veterans of America, Chapter 299; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Peter Duytschaever enjoyed hunting, fishing,
18spending time with friends and family, and watching the
19Chicago Bears, the St. Louis Cardinals, and the University of
20Notre Dame football team; he loved being with his wife,
21traveling, shopping, spending time at home with their dogs, or

1sitting on their deck; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Peter Duytschaever lived life to the fullest,
3providing fun and entertainment wherever he went; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Peter Duytschaever was preceded in death by his
5parents; his stepmother; his brother, Frank Herman; and his
6sisters, Marianne Elder and Camilla Hillman; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Peter Duytschaever is survived by his wife, Carol
8Jean Stanford-Duytschaever; his daughter, Allison (fiancé,
9Christopher Brown) Miller; his grandchildren, Sadie Miller,
10Hannah Miller, and Blake Miller; his sister, Janeen (John)
11SantAmour; and numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
14Peter David Duytschaever and extend our sincere condolences to
15his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
16further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Peter Duytschaever as an expression
19of our deepest sympathy.
