SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to
3congratulate the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce on
4the occasion of being awarded 5-star accreditation by the U.S.
5Chamber of Commerce; and
 
6    WHEREAS, The U.S. Chamber of Commerce's Accreditation
7Program serves to facilitate continuing excellence in the
8chamber industry and to foster a pro-business environment
9across the United States; in order to receive accreditation, a
10chamber must meet minimum standards in its operations and
11programs, including areas of governance, government affairs,
12communications, and technology; the program's Accrediting
13Board rates local chambers as accredited, 3-stars, 4-stars, or
145-stars, with 5-star accreditation remaining in effect for
15five years; and
 
16    WHEREAS, The Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce was
17bestowed a designation of 5-star accreditation for its sound
18policies, effective organizational procedures, and positive
19impact on the community, marking the third time it has
20achieved an accredited status of 5-stars and making it among
21the top 2% of chambers in the United States; and
 
22    WHEREAS, The Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce was

1noted by the Accrediting Board for serving as a vocal advocate
2for the region's business community, fostering an excellent
3working relationship with elected officials, engaging with
4many regional and state working groups and associations, and
5recognizing the work of its volunteers; and
 
6    WHEREAS, The Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce was
7further recognized for its leadership role in the All In for
8Economic Recovery group, its Advocacy Advisory Council, its
9Mayoral Forum, its Disaster Recovery Plan and utilization of
10the Ready Action Plan to address service continuity, its
11partnership with BIGG Success, and its resource library; and
 
12    WHEREAS, The Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce
13remains steadfast in achieving its mission to enhance its
14members' success and advocate on their behalf; therefore, be
15it
 
16    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
17ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the
18Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce on being awarded
195-star accreditation by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and we
20commend the chamber for its continued service and dedication
21to its members; and be it further
