SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Shelley R. Rockwell of Moline, who
4passed away on January 2, 2024; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Shelley Rockwell was born in Blue Island to
6Richard and Joanne Gower Rockwell on April 4, 1955; he served
7in the U.S. Navy; he married Sherri A. Phillips in East Moline
8on February 12, 1977; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Shelley Rockwell worked for John Deere Harvester
10Works for 31 years; he was a member of the United Auto Workers;
11and
 
12    WHEREAS, Shelley Rockwell enjoyed riding his
13Harley-Davidson motorcycle and doing projects around his home;
14some of his favorite times were those spent with friends and
15family; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Shelley Rockwell was preceded in death by his
17parents; his brothers, Todd and Billy Rockwell; his sisters,
18Vickie Burns and Bridget Rockwell; his nephews, Shawn Rockwell
19Jr. and Christopher Rockwell; and his nieces, Angela Burns and
20Kelly Burns; and

1    WHEREAS, Shelley Rockwell is survived by his wife, Sherri;
2his children, April (Andrew) Peterson, Jason Rockwell, and
3Jessica Rockwell; his grandchildren, Logan Peterson, Colin
4Peterson, Austin Rockwell, Zariah Rockwell, Justice Rockwell,
5Asia Rockwell, and Mia Bovan; his great-grandchildren, Jaylin
6and Jaydin; his sister, Cynthia (David) Gibbs; his brother,
7Shawn Rockwell; his brother-in-law, J. Richard Burns; his
8sister-in-law, Mary Rockwell; and numerous nieces, nephews,
9and other family; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Shelley R. Rockwell and extend our sincere condolences to his
13family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
14further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Shelley Rockwell as an expression
17of our deepest sympathy.
