SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Maxine Althea Keith of Peoria, who
4passed away on September 29, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Maxine Keith was born to Martin Daniel and Mabel
6Victoria (Engquist) Heindselman in Paxton on December 17,
71924; she married William Edward Keith in New Albany, Indiana
8on April 28, 1943; and
 
9    WHEREAS, During World War II, Maxine Keith worked at
10Caterpillar Inc., where she made parts; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Maxine Keith and her husband owned and operated
12Viking Catering in Peoria for 40 years; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Maxine Keith was a member of First English
14Lutheran Church in Peoria, where she was active in the
15church's Business Women's Circle; she was also a member of the
16Heart of Illinois Via de Cristo; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Maxine Keith was preceded in death by her
18husband; one infant brother; her brother, Robert Heindselman;
19and two sisters, Voda Cochran and Kathleen Kagel; and

1    WHEREAS, Maxine Keith is survived by her sons, William
2(Marsha) Keith and Donald (Brenda) Keith; her daughters,
3Rebecca Campbell and Vickie Lewis; and many grandchildren,
4great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and
5nephews; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Maxine Althea Keith and extend our sincere condolences to her
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Maxine Keith as an expression of our
13deepest sympathy.
