SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Raymond Vincent "Ray" Watt, who passed
4away on June 26, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ray Watt was born to Raymond Henry and Mary
6(Egerton) Watt on August 28, 1930; he served in the U.S. Army
7during the Korean War; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Ray Watt was a 75-year member of the Carpenter's
9Union Local 47/97; he was also an active member of St. Jude
10Catholic Church; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Ray Watt was very excited to participate in a
12recent Honor Flight; he was always willing to help anyone with
13a carpentry project; he especially enjoyed fishing at Table
14Rock Lake and fishing trips to Canada with his son, Ray; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Ray Watt was preceded in death by his sister,
16Helen Palecek and her husband, Al Palecek; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Ray Watt was the beloved husband of Catherine
18Rocco Watt for nearly 68 years; the dear father of Ray (Trudy)
19Watt, Tom (Margaret) Watt, Teresa (Tom) Carroll, and Tim
20(Nancy) Watt; the proud grandfather of Ray (Lena VanMeeteren)

1Watt, Elizabeth (Chris) Wiegert, Michelle (Aaron Docter) Watt,
2Thomas (Bridget) Watt, Amanda (Thomas) Herbst, John Carroll,
3and Brian Carroll; the proud great-grandfather of Luca Watt,
4Lucy Wiegert, William Wiegert, and Brian Wiegert; and the
5cherished friend to many; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Raymond Vincent "Ray" Watt and extend our sincere condolences
9to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
10it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Ray Watt as an expression of our
13deepest sympathy.
