SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of G.M. Alison Williams of Springfield,
4who passed away on June 8, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Alison Williams was born to Peter and Dorothy
6(Howell) Williams in St. John's, Antigua, West Indies on May
730, 1954; she was a resident of Springfield for 45 years; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Alison Williams made a big impact in her
9community, serving as director of several childcare and
10nonprofit agencies; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Alison Williams was an active member of Zion
12Missionary Baptist Church and belonged to the Red Hatters
13Social Club; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Alison Williams was an avid reader and a
15passionate writer of poetry who loved to travel; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Alison Williams was preceded in death by her
17parents; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Alison Williams is survived by her daughters,
19Tiffany (Ethan) Mathis-Posey and Faren Williams; her

1grandchildren, Avery-Jonae, Anthony Howard, Nylah-Nicole, and
2August-Sebastian; her grandchild on the way, Leena-Ann; her
3brothers, Joseph (Daisy) Williams and Christopher (Karen)
4Williams; and several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7G.M. Alison Williams and extend our sincere condolences to her
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Alison Williams as an expression of
12our deepest sympathy.
