SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Thomas Ray "Tom" North of Hamilton,
4who passed away on May 1, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Tom North was born in Keokuk, Iowa to Harold
6"Doc" and Elise Monroe North on October 1, 1946; he graduated
7from New London High School in New London, Iowa in 1964; he
8served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was
9awarded a Purple Heart; he married Ann Whalen at St. Peter's
10Catholic Church in Keokuk on March 30, 1968; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Tom North was employed by IBEW Local 13 as an
12electrician for 58 years, retiring in 2012; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Tom North was a member of St. Mary's Catholic
14Church in Hamilton; he enjoyed spending time outdoors,
15boating, scuba diving, and golfing; he was an avid fan of the
16Iowa Hawkeyes, Chicago Cubs, and Green Bay Packers; his
17grandchildren were his pride and joy, and he loved to watch
18them grow, enthusiastically supporting all of their
19activities; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Tom North was preceded in death by his parents
21and his son-in-law, Mike Lamm; and

1    WHEREAS, Tom North is survived by his wife, Ann; his
2daughter, Tracey Lamm; his son, Brandon North (Sheryl
3Goodhue); his grandchildren, Ethan Lamm, Katlyn North, Raeann
4Lamm, Abby North, and Olivia North; his great-grandchild,
5Brielle; and his sister, Jane (Dan) Glasgow; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Thomas Ray "Tom" North and extend our sincere condolences to
9his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Tom North as an expression of our
13deepest sympathy.
