SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Donald C. Hampton of Galva, formerly
4of Kewanee, who passed away on January 30, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Donald Hampton was born to Wren C. and Lela
6(Fawcett) Hampton in Peoria on May 30, 1930; he attended
7Kewanee schools; he served in the U.S. Army from 1947 to 1950;
8he married Alma J. Burch in Kewanee on December 3, 1950, and
9they later divorced; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Donald Hampton worked for and retired from the
11John Deere Company; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Donald Hampton was an avid St. Louis Cardinals
13fan; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Donald Hampton was preceded in death by his
15parents; his ex-wife; his daughter, Glenda Wallace; his
16grandsons, Justin and Rex Hampton; his great-grandson, Hampton
17Johnson; his brothers, Wren, Nick, Kenney, Robert, Howard, and
18Fred; and his sisters, Barbara, Sheila, Lela, and Alberta in
19infancy; and
 
20    WHEREAS, At the time of his passing, Donald Hampton was

1survived by his partner of 30 years, Marilyn Hass; his
2children, Donya (Dennis) Price, Shirlee (Greg) Fritch, Sheila
3(Dewayne) Willey, Sharon (Dan) Jaques, and Chris (Lisa)
4Hampton; his son-in-law, Mike Wallace; Marilyn's children,
5Missy (Brent) Stewart and Richard Hass; his grandchildren,
6Dean (Rachelle) Price, Duane (Torri) Price, Stephanie (Brad)
7Fritch, Chet Fritch, Brett (Jessica) Johnson, Donald
8(Stephanie) Johnson, Jerry Johnson, Chris (Brittany) Johnson,
9Joyce Willey, Stephan Johnson DeRosalyn, Jules (Luke)
10Quedenfield, Jared Jaques, Alyssa (Dom) Greer, and Nicholas
11Wallace; 21 great-grandchildren; and three
12great-great-grandchildren, with one on the way; therefore, be
13it
 
14    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
15ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
16Donald C. Hampton and extend our sincere condolences to his
17family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
18further
 
19    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
20presented to the family of Donald Hampton as an expression of
21our deepest sympathy.
