SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Joseph Canady, who passed away on
4December 24, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Joseph Canady was born to Frank Kennedy Sr. and
6Mattie Lee Fontaine in Macon, Georgia on March 1, 1955; he
7graduated from Southwest High School in Macon in 1973 and
8relocated to Chicago; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Joseph Canady worked for Midas International for
1029 years; he started in an entry level position and worked his
11way up in the company, retiring as plant manager; he graduated
12from Northwestern Business College in 1999; and
 
13    WHEREAS, After retiring from Midas, Joseph Canady worked
14as a property manager for Park Towers in Richton Park; he was
15elected as the village clerk for Richton Park in June 2012 and
16to the Richton Park Board of Trustees in June 2019; he was
17involved with the Municipal Clerks' Association of South &
18West Suburbs of Cook County; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Joseph Canady's servant heart and ability to care
20for others were some of his best qualities; he was passionate
21about his family and did what he could to always make sure that

1the ones close to him knew how much he loved and cared for
2them; he was a member of Apostolic Church of God in Christ in
3Chicago and a regular visitor of Victory Apostolic Church in
4Matteson; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Joseph Canady was preceded in death by his
6parents and his brothers, Rickey and Frank Canady Jr.; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Joseph Canady is survived by his daughter,
8Turkesha "Touki" (Deon) Perry; his son, Joseph Terrell Canady;
9his granddaughters, Tanaya and Tiana Canady; his sisters,
10Francine (Bobby) Glenn, Theresa (Bill) Canady, Gail Canady
11Thomas, and Sharlene Ford; his second mother, Vera May
12Stovall; his friend, Robert "Wicks" Williams; his Godson,
13Connor Kington; and numerous family and friends; therefore, be
14it
 
15    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
16ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
17Joseph Canady and extend our sincere condolences to his
18family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
19further
 
20    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
21presented to the family of Joseph Canady as an expression of
22our deepest sympathy.
