SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Marilyn J. Standley of Springfield,
4who passed away on March 3, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Marilyn Standley was born to Earl J. and Rhoda
6Mae (Dowdell) McMillen in Taylorville on August 30, 1952; she
7graduated from Jacksonville High School in 1970 and went on to
8graduate from Hardin Business School; she later earned
9continuing education credits in accounting at Lincoln Land
10Community College; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Marilyn Standley worked as a bookkeeper in the
12Jacksonville City Clerk's Office for many years; she later
13worked as a claims processor, service representative, and
14trainer for BlueCross BlueShield; she moved to Springfield to
15work for the Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS) in 2011,
16where she worked until her passing; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Marilyn Standley was preceded in death by her
18parents and her sister, Diana Ahrens; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Marilyn Standley is survived by her ex-husband,
20Edward Standley; her sons, Michael (Joy) Standley and David
21(April) Standley; her grandchildren, Emily, Andrew, Joshua,

1Henry, and Ella Standley; and her sister, Marsha (Chuck)
2Norris; therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5Marilyn J. Standley and extend our sincere condolences to her
6family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
7further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Marilyn Standley as an expression
10of our deepest sympathy.
