HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate Suzanne Simpson on the
4occasion of her retirement as Warren Township Supervisor; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Suzanne Simpson, as the chief executive officer,
6oversaw all the programs and services offered by the township;
7she was responsible for the development, use, and maintenance
8of an 80-acre park complex and served as chairman of the
9township board and treasurer of all town funds, including
10general assistance, road, and bridge funds; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Suzanne Simpson helped facilitate the expansion
12of the Warren Township Center, more than doubling its size and
13creating more space for recreation and others services for
14seniors; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Suzanne Simpson, along with the village of
16Gurnee, helped implement the Care Trak Program, which is
17designed to help police locate at-risk children and adults
18with special needs who may become lost; the program uses radio
19telemetry technology to find the missing person wearing the
20specially equipped tracking bracelet in as little as 30
21minutes; and

1    WHEREAS, Suzanne Simpson began her political career as a
2Republican precinct committeeperson from 1988 to 1998; she has
3served as the Warren Township Supervisor since 1997; she was
4appointed to represent District 61 in the Illinois House of
5Representatives in 2002; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Suzanne Simpson has been a member of the Lake
7County Republican Federation, the Federation Board of
8Governors, and the Lake County Farm Bureau Legislative
9Committee; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Suzanne Simpson owned and operated Simpson
11Equipment in Grayslake; therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
13HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
14we congratulate Suzanne Simpson on her retirement as Warren
15Township Supervisor, and we wish her the best in all her future
16endeavors; and be it further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to Suzanne Simpson as a symbol of our respect and
19esteem.
