HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate the Germantown Hills
4Middle School volleyball team, the Warriors, on winning the
52023 Illinois Elementary School Association (IESA) Class 3A
6Eighth Grade Girls Volleyball Championship; and
 
7    WHEREAS, The Germantown Hills Middle School volleyball
8team competed against the Morris Saratoga Junior High School
9volleyball team, the Hawks, across three matches in the
10championship game at Pana High School on March 18, 2023; the
11team scored 23-25, 25-23, and 25-15, respectively, ultimately
12winning the state championship; and
 
13    WHEREAS, The Germantown Hills Middle School volleyball
14team finished its season with a record of 22-5-0; and
 
15    WHEREAS, The Germantown Hills Middle School volleyball
16team's IESA state championship win marks the program's first;
17and
 
18    WHEREAS, The Germantown Hills Middle School volleyball
19team includes Gabby Blahnik, Maddie Culp, Addie Lahood, Allie
20Lueddecke, Ella Miller, Keira Murray, Allie Nelson, Jenna
21Oderwald, Abby Petersen, Addison Riggins, Ella Seckler,

1Aurelia Slape, Gillian Tyra, Tabby Vandeschraaf, and Junie
2Wagoner; and
 
3    WHEREAS, The Germantown Hills Middle School volleyball
4team is led by Head Coach Gail Elbert, Assistant Coaches Kasey
5VandeSchraaf and Victoria West, Manager Lydia Beard, and
6Scorekeeper Sarah Light; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
8HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
9we congratulate the Germantown Hills Middle School volleyball
10team, the Warriors, on winning the 2023 Illinois Elementary
11School Association (IESA) Class 3A Eighth Grade Girls
12Volleyball Championship, and we wish the players and coaches
13continued success; and be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
15presented to Head Coach Gail Elbert and Germantown Hills
16Middle School Principal Kate Williams as an expression of our
17esteem and respect.
