HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Caspar Dowdy on their 
4accomplishment of being named Illinois Journalist of the Year; 
5and
  
 
  
6    WHEREAS, Caspar Dowdy began their career as a journalist 
7at Liberty Middle School, where they garnered many accolades 
8for their work; and
  
 
  
9    WHEREAS, Caspar Dowdy maintained this excellence in 
10journalism throughout all four years at Edwardsville High 
11School, serving as editor-in-chief of both the Tiger Times and 
12The Claw, as well as co-editor-in-chief of the Edwardsville 
13High School yearbook; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Caspar Dowdy is also a standing member of the 
15Edwardsville High School Orchestra, where they play the 
16violin; they are the first student in Southern Illinois to be 
17named Illinois Journalist of the Year; therefore, be it
  
 
18    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
19HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
20we congratulate Caspar Dowdy on their accomplishment of being 
21named Illinois Journalist of the Year, and we wish them and

1their family the best of luck in their future endeavors; and be

3    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
