    Amends the Career and Workforce Transition Act. Provides that a public community college district shall accept up to 30 credit hours transferred from an institution approved by the Illinois Community College Board if a student has completed a masonry program at that institution.

1    AN ACT concerning education.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Career and Workforce Transition Act is
5amended by changing Section 10 as follows:
 
6    (110 ILCS 151/10)
7    Sec. 10. Transfer of credits.
8    (a) A public community college district shall accept up to
930 credit hours transferred from an institution that has been
10approved under Section 15 of this Act if a student has
11completed one of the following programs at that institution:
12        (1) Medical Assisting.
13        (2) Medical Coding.
14        (3) Dental Assisting.
15        (4) HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning).
16        (5) Welding.
17        (6) Pharmacy Technician.
18        (7) General Carpentry.
19        (8) Interior Systems Carpentry.
20        (9) Drywall.
21        (10) Floor Covering.
22        (11) Mill-cabinetry.
23        (12) Millwright.

1        (13) Insulation/Spray Foam.
2        (14) Siding Installation.
3        (15) Roofing.
4        (16) Lathing.
5        (17) Pile Driving.

1credit-hour system.
2    (b) The public community college district may accept the
3credits as direct equivalent credits or prior learning
4credits, as determined by the district and consistent with the
5accrediting standards and institutional and residency
6requirements of the Board, the Higher Learning Commission,
7other State and national accreditors, and State licensing
8bodies, as appropriate.
9    (c) Any designation given by the Board of credit hour
10value for items (1) through (6) under subsection (a) shall be
11applied by the community college district as direct or
12elective credit toward an associate degree of applied science
13or its equivalent as determined by the community college
14district.
