AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 4665

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 4665 on page 1, by
3replacing lines 4 through 6 with the following:

"Article 1. Equity In Accessibility

 
5    Section 1-1. Short title. This Article may be cited as the
6Equity in Accessibility Act. References in this Article to
7"this Act" mean this Article.
 
8    Section 1-5. Funding.
9    (a) The Department of Human Services shall provide for
10funding and reimbursement of costs associated with the
11provision of American Sign Language services and interpretive
12services for non-English speaking patients for the benefit of
13patients of mental health treatment programs and facilities.
14The funding and reimbursement shall be based upon the actual
15cost incurred by the mental health treatment program or

1facility and shall reflect regional differences in costs and
2expenses related to the provision of American Sign Language
3and non-English interpretive services at each location.
4    (b) Applicants seeking funding under this Act shall apply
5to the Department in a form and manner prescribed by the
6Department.
7    (c) The Department may adopt any rules necessary to
8implement this Act.

11    Section 5-1. Short title. This Article may be cited as the
12Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder Professional Support
13Grant Program Act. References in this Article to "this Act"
14mean this Article."; and
