Amends the Sanitary District Act of 1936. On and after January 1, 2024, provides that group life, health, accident, hospital and medical insurance, or any one or any combination of those types of insurance, may not be provided to trustees. Effective immediately.

|
| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Sanitary District Act of 1936 is amended by |
| 5 | | changing Section 4.1 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (70 ILCS 2805/4.1) (from Ch. 42, par. 415.1)
|
| 7 | | Sec. 4.1.
The board of trustees of any sanitary district |
| 8 | | may arrange to
provide for the benefit of employees and |
| 9 | | trustees of the sanitary district
group life, health, |
| 10 | | accident, hospital and medical insurance, or any one or
any |
| 11 | | combination of such types of insurance. Such insurance may |
| 12 | | include
provision for employees and trustees who rely on |
| 13 | | treatment by prayer or
spiritual means alone for healing in |
| 14 | | accordance with the tenets and
practice of a well recognized |
| 15 | | religious denomination. The board of trustees
may provide for |
| 16 | | payment by the sanitary district of the premium or charge
for |
| 17 | | such insurance.
|
| 18 | | On and after January 1, 2024, no benefit under this |
| 19 | | Section may be provided to trustees. |
| 20 | | If the board of trustees do not provide for a plan pursuant |
| 21 | | to which the
sanitary district pays the premium or charge for |
| 22 | | any group insurance plan,
the board of trustees may provide |
| 23 | | for the withholding and deducting from
the compensation of |
