SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Robert Wayne "Bob" Dahman; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Bob Dahman was born to Russell and Donna Carlton
5Dahman in Jacksonville on October 11, 1929; he graduated from
6Winchester High School in 1948; he married Betty Coates in
7June 1948; he served as a corporal with the 45th Infantry
8Division and military police in the U.S. Army in Korea from
91952 to 1954, and he received the Korean Service Ribbon with
10two Bronze Stars, the National Defense Service Medal, and the
11Korean War Service Medal; he later married Barbara Foreman
12Buckley in June 1983; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Bob Dahman was involved in farming for most of
14his adult life, and he resumed farming following his military
15service; in 1963, he opened Dahman Equipment Inc., selling
16International Harvester Farm Equipment until his retirement;
17he was continuously interested in his farms; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Bob Dahman was a member of the Winchester First
19Christian Church, Winchester American Legion Post 442, the
20Winchester VFW, the Scott County Historical Society, and the
21Jacksonville Area Genealogical and Historical Society; he was
22an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and collected toy farm

1machinery and ball caps; he enjoyed traveling around the
2United States and to many countries overseas; he was devoted
3to his family, especially his grandchildren and
4great-grandchildren; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bob Dahman was preceded in death by his parents
6and his wife, Barbara; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Bob Dahman is survived by his sons, Michael
8(Brenda) and Bruce (Pamela); his grandchildren, Andrew
9(Mandie), Matthew, and Michelle (Richard) Seymour; his
10great-grandchildren, Zachary Dahman, Chloe Dahman, Jackson
11Dahman, Keira Dahman, Alexis Seymour, and Bryce Seymour; his
12sister, Rosalie (Mike) Fiedler; and his stepchildren, Anita
13Arigona, Clint Buckley, and James Buckley; therefore, be it
 
14    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
15ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
16Robert Wayne "Bob" Dahman and extend our sincere condolences
17to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
18it further
 
19    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
20presented to the family of Bob Dahman as an expression of our
21deepest sympathy.
