SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Frank Kozak of Schaumburg, who passed
4away on December 3, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Frank Kozak served the Village of Schaumburg for
6almost 40 years in a variety of capacities; he spent 26 years
7on the Plan Commission from 1983 to 2009; he was elected to the
8village board in 2009 and served as a trustee for 13 years; he
9served on a number of committees and commissions, including
10the Public Safety Committee, the Finance, Legal,
11Administration, General Government Committee, and the
12Planning, Building, and Development Committee; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Frank Kozak was honored to be the marshal of the
1450th Labor Day Parade as part of the village's Septemberfest
15activities; he participated in all 50 years of the fest and
16parade throughout the village's history, including as the 1st
17chairman; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Frank Kozak served the community in many ways
19beyond his duties as an elected official; he was involved in
20organizations such as the Schaumburg Jaycees, where he served
21as a local president and state director, the Schaumburg
22Athletic Association, where he served as a soccer commissioner

1for four years, and the Schaumburg High School VIP program,
2supporting high school activities; he also volunteered with
3Misericordia for more than 20 years; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Frank Kozak was a member of the Church of the Holy
5Spirit, where he served as a lector and volunteer usher; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Frank Kozak was a loving husband, parent, and
7friend who will especially be remembered for his great sense
8of humor and dedicated work to make a difference in his
9community; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Frank Kozak was the husband of Char (Gastineau)
11Kozak; the father of Shiela (Don) Watson and Steven (Brenda)
12Kozak; the grandfather of Vicky, Matthew, Sarah, Jason,
13Kourtney, Ryan, Wyatt, Ashley, and Skylar; the
14great-grandfather of Austin, Lorenzo, and Isaiah; and the dear
15son of the late Josephine and Frank Kozak; therefore, be it
 
16    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
17ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
18Frank Kozak and extend our sincere condolences to his family,
19friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
 
20    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
21presented to the family of Frank Kozak as an expression of our
