SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Larry D. Greene of Melrose Park, who
4passed away on April 14, 2022 at the age of 81; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Larry Greene was born on July 21, 1940; he
6graduated from Oak Park and River Forest High School in 1959;
7he served as a helicopter mechanic in the U.S. military in
8Germany from 1963 to 1965 during the Vietnam War; he married
9Aiko Takada in Chicago on December 16, 1978, and they resided
10in Oak Park; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Larry Greene worked for Western Electric (AT&T)
12until his retirement in 1990; he and his wife later moved to
13their final home in Melrose Park; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Larry Greene was a devoted member of Judson
15Church in Oak Park, where he served as a Sunday School
16volunteer; he was an avid fisherman, an astute hunter, a
17decorated bowler, and an international traveler; he was also
18an enthusiastic Chicago White Sox fan and held an interest in
19casinos; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Larry Greene was beloved by many for his
21character, enthusiasm, and spontaneity; and

1    WHEREAS, Larry Greene was preceded in death by his
2brother, Darrill (Brenda) Greene; and
 
3    WHEREAS, At the time of his passing, Larry Greene was
4survived by his wife of 44 years, Aiko Greene; his siblings,
5Tom (Jayne) Greene and Joanne (the late Louis) Cipparrone; and
6his numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Larry D. Greene and extend our sincere condolences to his
10family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Larry Greene as an expression of our
14deepest sympathy.
